Hello,

with olsrd pre-0.6.7-git_0000000-hash_4ee6cd440cde278092c11151c0265e20
on openwrt r33081 the dyn-gw plugin segfaults, hardware is compex wp546.
olsrd_dyn_gw_plain.so.0.4 works fine. Just wanted to let you know. If i
can be of any help in pinning down the reason please let me know how.

cheers

Chris

I'd still like to know why it segfaults.
This is the first report of it, so finding out why is very valuable.
And we haven't touched that plugin for a while, so patches might also be
needed for released versions...

Could you try to find out why it segfaults?
Can you bisect olsrd?
Hello Ferry,
thank you for the quick reply..
and sorry for my lack of research before posting.
It works fine with openwrt r38260 on ubiquity routerstation,
seems to be a problem with the older openwrt on wp546 and possibly my
application of compex's even older patches on the build system.
We might consider to not bother with that obsolete combination.

A stacktrace from gdb would also be nice.

Would it be helpful for you to investigate directly on the box in
question? I could give you the login credentials, so you don't have to
wait for me to get that toolchain in order again.

The problem at this moment is that I tried to apply these old Compex
patches
(http://www.cpx.cz/dls/WP546_routerboard/OpenWRT_image_backfire/OpenWRT_sdk-120528/sdk-120528.tar.bz2)
to OpenWrt r33081 and I broke the toolchain while making it 'more
accurate' :-|

You're right, finding the glitch would make new olsrd version more
reliably usable on older OpenWrt versions. I recognized that the
dyn-gw-plugin makes trouble in some cases.

greetings

Chris

So we finally see the reason for segfault in openwrt r33081 or possibly
in my particular build,
on r36088 everything is fine!

Now I know how to be more specific in cases like these ;)
Thank you.
